Former Senior Pastor of the RCCG City of David Parish, Idowu Iluyomade, has launched a new church called Family Fellowship in Lagos following his alleged suspension by the RCCG leadership.
The alleged suspension came after his wife’s grand 60th birthday celebration sparked public criticism, held shortly after the tragic passing of Herbert Wigwe, a prominent church member and former GCEO of Access Holdings Plc.
A viral video from a recent Family Fellowship service showed congregants joyfully dancing.

Sources revealed that Iluyomade’s suspension was decided by the RCCG governing council, not Pastor E.A. Adeboye, after public backlash.
The birthday event, held at Eko Hotels and Suites, featured high-profile attendees but caused disapproval, particularly from the Wigwe family, who excluded the City of David Parish from Herbert Wigwe’s funeral arrangements.
Pastor Charles Kpandei has since replaced Iluyomade as the parish pastor.
