When Is JAMB 2024 Registration Starting?

No date has been announced yet for JAMB 2024 registration. But sales are usually from January – February. You should wait till 2024, to get the exact date.

How To Register For JAMB 2024 In Lagos

Typically, there are 6 necessary steps on how to register for jamb 2024 in Lagos, which you must take as directed, to ensure that your registration is successful. We have listed each of these steps below:

1. Create An Email Address

To register for the JAMB examinations, you must have a working email address. This is important because the email is what you’ll use to create a JAMB profile online and access your JAMB CAPS in the future when the time comes.

If you do not have an email address, you can go to Gmail to create one. However, if you already have an existing email, there will be no need for you to get another one. 

2. Have An Active Phone Number

You’ll need to have an active phone number, which you’ll use to request a JAMB profile code. This code will help you buy the E-pin for JAMB registration. Note, that one number must be used by one candidate, as it is linked by the organization to just you. 

If you have used the phone number to previously register for JAMB, you can still use it for JAMB 2024. Just ensure that it is still working and you can receive SMS easily on it.

3. Get Your NIN From NIMC

The organization made the use of the National Identification Number (NIN), compulsory for sitting for 2023 JAMB, as such there is a chance that they will make the same request next year. If you don’t have an NIN, please go to the passport office at Ikoyi to get it done.

When filling out the form for NIN, ensure that every information you provide is accurate. This would be things like name, date of birth, local government area, gender, address, etc. Remember, you’ll use the ID when creating your JAMB profile. So, if any information is incorrect, you’re indirectly sending the wrong data to JAMB.

If you already have your NIN but forgot it, you can retrieve it by dialing *346#. From the options on your screen, dial ”NIN Retrieval”, by typing in ‘1’. Please note, that this can only work if you use the same phone number you presented when enrolling for your NIN.

4. Create A JAMB Profile

To create a JAMB Profile, go to your messaging APP on your Android or Apple phone, tap ‘Create New Message’ and fill in the message box with this information:

  • NIN [”Your NIN”] to 55019 or 66019. 

Write out the word ‘NIN’ then space add the 11-digit NIN number and send it to 55091 or 66019. You should have up to N50 airtime in the SIM you are using to do this.

When you’ve sent this message, you’ll get a Profile code of 10 characters on the same telephone number. It is this code that you will give to Bank, NIPOST or any other JAMB E-pin sales point. 

5. Purchase an E-pin From A JAMB Approved Sales Points

Now that you have your JAMB profile code, you can visit NIPOST or any other participating banks – Firstbank, Jaiz, Polaris, Sterling, Taj, Union, and Unity. 

Some mobile money operators, microfinance banks, and online platforms to get an E-pin from include:

  • Paga.
  • e-Transact.
  • TEASYPay.
  • Interswitch.
  • Caprisco.
  • Quickteller.
  • Upperlink.’
  • Remita. 
  • PayCom.

If you lose your pin or didn’t receive it, you can send [UTMEPIN] or [DEPIN] to 55019 or 66019 for UTME or DE respectively, from your phone number. You’ll get your ePIN.

6. Conclude Your Registration At An Approved JAMB Registration Centre 

With your E-pin and Profile Code, you may now visit any JAMB-approved VBT registration centre to conclude your registration. Go in person to present your profile code and e-PIN at any JAMB-accredited CBT Centre for registration. They’ll capture your photograph and biometrics (the whole 10 fingers).
